¡Si Se Puede! sneak peek

Behind the scenes of OFP's community play

Last week, OFP members began gathering for hands-on set and prop-making sessions to prepare for our upcoming community theatre showcase at Eastside Arts Alliance. The group includes ¡Si Se Puede! cast members, our volunteer stage crew, their friends, families, and neighbors--all learning, creating, and collaborating to transform blank canvases into physical expressions of their shared vision.

Yoli, one of OFP's base members and a trained artist, shared her thoughts with our lead organizer after the first painting session:

"Good evening Flavio. I arrived home safely and happy to be with you all for a common cause. That's what gives meaning to existence: having purposes, contributing even a little to doing something for someone, because we deserve a change for the better, for the health and good vibes of the UNIVERSE."

— Yoli

Yoli led the group in learning painting technique--mixing colors, making precise brushstrokes, and creating dimension and shadow to bring the sets to life. Her message to Flavio underlined the mission of OFP's Teatro project: cultivating spaces to bring folks together and build leadership from within our communities to creatively and collectively realize our visions of change.

We invite you to gather with us to celebrate months of OFP members' dedication, creativity, and care. On Saturday, February 7th, they will take center stage at Eastside Arts Alliance for the play's debut.

Space is limited--RSVP here to reserve a seat!
